Why You NEED to Lift Weights If You're Trying to Lose Weight
When most people think of losing weight, they think that starving themselves and doing excessive amounts of cardio is the answer. While some of this is true, most of it is not. Losing weight is one of the most popular fitness goals in America due to a lack of exercise and poor diet leads to poor health and weight gain. Nutrition is about 75% of the process when it comes to reaching your fitness goal.
It is to lose weight or gain weight, so it's obviously something that people need to spend more time dialing to ensure they are piling on the right track, but we'll save that for another article.

In general, when people start lifting weights for the first time, they can gain a lot of muscle because it is a new stimulus to the body which in turn may seem "slow down" your weight loss. But here's the cool thing, even if the scale can not be moving when you start weight training, it is because you might be building a little muscle and burn some fat! The measure that will determine if this case is your measure body fat percentage. Regardless of what the scale says, you still want your percent body fat to get down. Another way to see if you lose fat your circumference measurements.
Usually, if your waistline down, it's a very good thing!
