Losing Weight - What Are Myths, And What Are Facts When It Comes To Losing Weight?

The generally accepted wisdom to lose weight has been passed down to us from time immemorial.

As defined in Wikipedia, "conventional wisdom" is "certain ideas or explanations that are generally accepted as true by the public." Wikipedia further explains that "the conventional wisdom is not necessarily true. The conventional wisdom is often seen as an obstacle to the acceptance of newly acquired information, introduce new theories and explanations ..."

Weight loss has its set of "conventional wisdom" that we wish to refute introducing theories and newly acquired explanations. Once the new theories and explanations are accepted and implemented, it will greatly help a fitness through many lose weight.

Jonathan Bailor, author of a new book on health and wellness weight loss has many new theories and explanations, as anyone with weight loss goals, should pay attention to and perhaps add to their weight loss plans.

First, Bailor notes that more than 95 percent of the time, "counting calories does not take body fat over the long term." The new idea says that "if we stick to healthy natural foods and stop worrying about calories, our body will naturally stand at a healthy weight." Therefore we can classify conventional wisdom "You have to count calories to lose weight "as a myth. Counting calories is not directly lose weight.

Second, Bailor notes that foods that are equal in calories do not satisfy you in the same way. A good example of food that satisfy you more than the foods low in nutrients, are salads. The salads are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and give you the feeling of being satisfied that the low-nutrient, high-calorie foods. Therefore, we can group the conventional wisdom "All calories are created equal" a myth.

Thirdly, Bailor Note that "By eating much better food, we unconsciously avoid overeating and provide your body with the nutrition that reprograms the body behave more like a naturally thin person." One can thus consider the conventional wisdom " We can eat everything in moderation "as a myth. Furthermore, the quality of the food (which means unprocessed foods low in sugar, and if it has oil in it, the oil will be coconut oil and / or oil olive considered healthy oils) is more important than its quantity.

Fourth, Bailor refutes the conventional wisdom that "Sex burns a lot of calories." It refers to the results of a study of the well known journal of medicine, that "an average session of love burns only 21 calories" . Therefore we can classify conventional wisdom "Sex burns a lot of calories" as a myth.

Fifth, the conventional wisdom "You burn as many calories as walking a mile to run a mile" is a myth. A recent study showed that women 91 calories burned running a mile from the burning 43 calories walking a mile.

Sixth, a study in the exercise, metabolism and nutrition found that more calories are burned and continue to be burned if you eat a small snack before you work. We can therefore consider the conventional wisdom "Working on an empty stomach" as a myth.

Finally, a one-year study on obese women namely weight loss results if there are changes to their diet only, exercise only, or in both diet and exercise. The results show that diet alone resulted in the loss of 8.5 percent of their starting weight; exercise alone resulted in the loss of 2.4 percent of their starting weight; but diet and exercise did together resulted in the loss of 10.7 percent of their starting weight. Therefore we can classify conventional wisdom "Exercise is all you need as a myth."
