* Another tool that can be useful is a pedometer. It's like a step calculator. You carry on your person and track the number of steps you take and how far you go.

* It might be a good idea to take water with you, especially if you are walking in the heat. you should also drink water after your walk. The water will help you stay hydrated and energized.

* Dress for the weather. Walking can be done throughout the year. Of course, use common sense if this ice, high winds, or other potential hazards. But for most, if you dress and protect you properly, you can continue to enjoy your walks.

How long walk should be?

* You should start slowly and short. It depends on your current health status. But once you've started slowly increase your minutes, rhythm and slopes.

* A good calorie burning walk should be about 25 to 30 minutes at a brisk pace or some slopes.
