Why Sugar Is Not Good For Your Body If You Want to Lose Weight

What sugar can do to your body?

You are aware that too much sugar is not good for your health. Sugar has been shown to promote fat storage and weight gain, alter the immune system, increases blood sugar and induces oxidative stress in the body. Increased consumption of sugary drinks is strongly associated with obesity.

How sugar is stored in our body

Sugar stimulates a fat-storing hormone insulin, which is secreted by the pancreas. The more sugar you eat, the more your body secretes insulin, which means that you earn more and more fat. The favorite place where insulin likes to store this fat is the stomach. I'm sure you've seen many guys with these big bellies (aka "pot belly or beer") walking around.

How sugar appears in our diet

Sugar comes in different forms in our food. This is the way the food industry adds sugar in food as there are many sugar synonyms. The next time you go shopping, look out for some of these words on food labels:

Sucrose
Fructose
Glucose
Syrup
High fructose corn syrup
Starch hydrolyzed
Maple syrup
maltodextrin, etc.

If you are serious about your health and you also want to lose weight eat less food with all the ingredients mentioned above. Here is an important message that you should always remember: "Do not drink your blood sugar, eat your sugar levels."

When you drink sugar in liquid form, particularly sugar-containing beverages (including fruit juice) we tend to drink more that lead to taking too many calories. This will lead to overeating resulting in weight gain, insulin resistance and elevated triglycerides.

How should you eat your sugar?

The best thing you can do for yourself is to try to avoid sugary drinks because they contain too many calories that will quickly feel your stomach. Rather eat your sugar from, natural whole foods such as fruits because when you consume sugar from fruits that also consume other nutrients, including fiber. Fiber will slow the absorption of sugar in your blood, which prevents insulin from spiking so that you do not store too much fat.

Here is another home message:

Your body can use carbohydrates, once they are broken down and converted into sugar in your body. It is important to reduce carbohydrate foods such as pasta, rice, bread to make sure you earn extra pound!
