Change Your Diet - Change Your Mindset!


When starting a diet, most of us tend to set up to fail from the start.

Why? Because most of us dread going on a diet and thus begin to sabotage our efforts before it even begins.

It is in human nature

When we think that we will be deprived of our favorite foods, we store on them or overeat them in the days before the diet. But it need not be this way.

A proper diet does not mean you have to deprive yourself of foods you love

Means a proper diet you need to change the way you think about food. Food is not the enemy. Even your favorite food is not the enemy. The enemy is your personal inability to balance the types of food you put into your body. The problem is that most of us consume the wrong foods more often we eat the right foods. This is where most diets fail.

Our body needs proper nutrients ~ nutrients that can be done by eating five servings of vegetables and three servings of fruit a day. If we do not give our bodies the nutrients our bodies feel deprived and are hungry. Many studies have shown that if we were actually consume the proper balance of fruit and vegetables a day we find that we were much less likely to feel hungry and crave foods that are not as healthy. This means that we would be much more likely to enjoy our favorite foods in moderation because they must be consumed.

Moderation means portion control

In today's food industry "to sale" has become the norm. In fact, your server has been formed to sell you the more you order, and certainly more than your body needs ~ all in the name of profit. It can cost an extra dollar or two to get a larger or a little extra food, but at the end of your body, and ultimately your health, will pay the price. You must learn to say no to these temptations.

Do not think that depriving yourself. Think of it as building a healthier and slimmer. If you think that dieting is all about depriving your body, maybe you should turn your thinking around.

Think of your weight loss plan as a positive force in your life so you can make changes for the better. If you ever have thoughts where you think you are depriving yourself, remember that you are depriving ...

your bones of carrying around that excess weight
your wardrobe of those bulky clothes that are designed to hide your love handles
your body of years of bumps and bring the body of your youth
Moderation is the key to a successful diet

Be sure to enjoy some of the good things that life has to offer ~ including great food. Watch your weight and counting your calories does not mean you can never have fun and enjoy your favorite foods. The goal is to find balance.

If you learn to portion your food properly, practice moderation, and take part in activities to burn calories on a daily basis, without a doubt, you will see great results.
